Private Lands Forest Network

Well planting season is winding down.  This was a challenging year for many folks.  The wet weather has kept many people from accessing their planting sites, and a shortage of seedlings has kept many people from getting the seedlings they wanted or needed.

This is a good chance for me to remind you to order early!  I'm taking orders for next year already, so don't hesitate to order now if you know what you want.  The sooner you order, the better we can anticipate what we need and get enough trees for everyone.

We celebrated Arbor Day in conjunction with Grande Ronde Model Watershed on April 17th.  This is the 3rd year that we participated in this event.  We gave away quite a few trees and sold a whole bunch of trees!  This is a great opportunity for us to work with landowners that aren't our usual customers!

If you are looking for some late season planting stock, please phone soon!  We have some Western Larch, Lodgepole pine, and Englemann Spruce available.

Well, winter is hanging on and refuses to die this year.  As I'm writing this post, it is snowing outside my window!  That said, the trees will be shipped tomorrow and should be available for pick-up starting middle of next week.  I know many of you will be unable to get to your sites for a little while and that is fine.  We will store your trees until you are able to get out and plant them.
Right now, I'm unsure what surplus there may be, but please keep checking back because as I get the previous orders filled, I will update the surplus list.
Also, don't forget our 3rd Annual Arbor Day event on April 17!  We will have some trees to give away and will be offering whatever we have in surplus for sale in any quantity!

Surplus Seedling List Available!

With some quick calculations, I was able to produce a surplus seedling list.  Please keep in mind that these are just the surplus from PLFN.  The nurseries may have additional seedlings to sell.  If you don't see what you are looking for, please give us a call and we'll do our best to find what you want.

Planting Season 2009
The snow is falling and right now it's a little hard to get excited about planting trees.  However, it's important to start planning ahead and thinking about what you would like to order for the Spring 2009 season.  Again, surplus is limited, so it's best to get your name on the list as soon as possible, so we have a chance of filling your order.

Dan and I would like to wish everyone a Safe and Happy New Year!
