| 1) What year are the aerial photos? |
| Most of the photos date from the early to mid 1990's, and cover the same area as a 1:24,000 scale USGS topo map of the same name. |
| 2) On the PA/NY/NJ etc, Hist Map Cd, is the town of (insert name) shown? |
| Maybe. There are just too many towns, rivers etc to make a list for each map. If you know the quad name, email me the town name and I will look. |
| 3) Will the viewing software on the topo CD's run on Windows? |
| Yes, the viewing software runs on Windows. The images are in the .TIF graphic file format and can be viewed with any software/system that can open graphic files: Paint shop Pro, Photoshop etc. |
| 4) I had trouble with, or do not use Paypal, can I pay another way? |
| Yes, check or money order is fine.See the Order CD Page page for my mailing address. I have no control over Paypal. |
| 5) How much is shipping? |

| 6) Do you offer discounts if I order more than one CD? |

| 11) How quickly can I get the map CD's? Paypal payments get shipped the same or next day. |
| 12) If I buy the one or two cd specials, how do I specify which cd's I want? |
| At the paypal payment screen, you will see a window to add notes etc. Tell me which disks you want here. |
| 13) Can I see my house at 1313 Seaside Lane in Erie on the aerial photo? |
| Maybe. Houses are shown, but not street or town names like a topo map. You will not be able to see you dog in the yard but you can see cars and trains etc. To see how to overlay an aerial photo and a topo map, clickhere. |
| 14) What is the advantage of the Aerial CD over Terraserver? |
| A) slow internet... not have to wait on terraserver. I still have dial up. |
| B) security in knowing I can access the photos I need anytime, anywhere such as in my car on a laptop. I own the CD. Will terraserver be here in 3-5 years and still free? |
| C) I can use the photos whole (not saved pieces from terraserver) in GPS mapping software and plot my waypoints on the photos, as the photos are georeferenced, the saved files from terraserver will not be. Each aerial photo is the same scale as a 1:24,000 scale USGS topo map. |
| 15) Q: I use a MAC. Will I be able to view the Aerial Map photos in the MrSid format?. |
| Yes, Lizardtech offers a browser plug in. You can find it here: http://www.lizardtech.com/download/dl_options.php?page=viewers It is called the ExpressView Browser Plug-in (MrSID) Try this also: http://www.microimages.com/tntlite/ An image convertor (shareware) is here: http://www.lemkesoft.com/en/graphcon.htm Another solution may be the VirtualPC software for the Mac that allows the use of Windows based software. So far, this is all for the Mac that I know of. |
