Girls between the ages of ten and twenty who bear a Masonic relationship are eligible
for membership. Masonic relationship is interpreted to mean a relationship by blood, marriage, or law to a Master Mason, his
wife or widow, a member of Job's Daughters or a Majority Member of Job's Daughters. This prerequisite ties JDI (Job's Daughters
International) closely to the family of organizations based on Masonic relationship.
You don't know if you are related to a Master Mason? Don't let that discourage you. Many people are related
to Master Masons and don't even know it! Every Bethel has a special committee whose only responsibility is to check the eligibility
of potential members. A relationship can be found for almost every person who is interested in joining.
So what next? Find a Bethel that is near you. Click on the Maryland Jobies link to see if there is a Maryland
Bethel close to where you live. Bethel Members travel anywhere from 5 to 60 or more minutes to meetings, so “near”
is of course open to interpretation. If there is not a Maryland Bethel near you, there may be one in a neighboring state.
To search for Bethels in other states, go to iojd.org and click on “Bethel Locator” in the left menu.
Contact the Bethel. They would love to hear from you! They will probably ask for your address and/or phone
number to contact you and give you more information.
You can easily contact
Bethel #35 by going here. We can can give you more information about joining our Bethel or direct you to another Bethel in your area.
Not 10 yet? We have
a Jobie-to-Bee program for girls who are 9!
