I have it!!! I got my copy of the 4th edition
Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide early! I've been pouring over it the last couple of days... and I have to say I'm really digging it. Even
though they shoehorned some stuff into it, I really like the whole "Points of Light" flavor. Now I just need to
get the
Forgotten Realms Player's Guide that comes out next month. I'm hoping they put ot a pdf of it after it releases (like they did with the PHB, DMG
and MM). That way I can give a copy to my players.
Currently, I'm also revamping the House Rules section. I want to make it 4th edition compatible. I also changed
the 3-minute rule to "1-minute rule." I think this might speed up combat. Also, Justin has some excellent ideas
regarding PvP combat. I've also got some really cool ideas for character creation. On that note,
this book looks cool.
And speaking of Justin, it looks like I'm going to share DMing with him. He'll be running his game
on some days and I'll be DMing mine on others. I think this will help me so I don't get overloaded.
Finally, I've been thinking about Paizo's Pathfinder books. While I'm enjoying 4th edition, I still get a bit nostalgic
for 3rd edition's take on classes and spells. So, I've been thinking about picking up the
Pathfinder Campaign Setting. Rumor has it, the new beta version of the Pathfinder Roleplaying game will essentially be 3.75. Hopefully, it
will solve some of the obstacles we faced in 3.5. I don't know if we'll ever play it, but it might be nice to have.
