Why the name "Restless World"?

The name reflects the nature of the world around us.

We're like ships sailing the ocean, navigating the waves that each day brings.

On good days, we glide through it all, and feel alive.

On not-so-good days, we have to fight against the waves.

Songs can tell this story and take us on a journey.

Sometimes, the journey is through joy, and sometimes through sorrow.

Or through hope, regret, everlasting love, lost love, lust, despair, longing, and a thousand other emotions.

Hopefully, we listen, hear something that touches us, and feel alive.

Words for the journey

Here are some words that stayed with me long after the songs ended:

“It’s been three years since I’m knocking on your door

And I still can knock some more” – Bob Marley

“Never to be wrong

Never to make promises that break

It's like singing in the wind

Or writing on the surface of a lake" – Sting

“Seems I’m not alone in being alone

A hundred billion castaways, looking for a home” – Sting

“Be yourself – no matter what they say” – Sting

"Reggae music

Set me in a fever

My blood pressure high

Yet I don't want no doctor" – Steel Pulse

"The days roll by like thunder

Like a storm that's never breaking

All my time and space compressed in the low pressure of proceedings"

Everything but the Girl

"Would your eyes, like midnight fireflies

Light up the trenches where my heart lies" – Sarah McLachlan

“Here’s a simplification of everything we’re going through:

You plus me is bad news” – Sara Bareilles

“And it’s hard for me to take a stand

When I would take her any way I can” – John Mayer
