Wylie Black: 

Wylie overmatched Forney tonight (Sept. 17) 14-0. The boys played well and were lead by great pitching from John Quisenberry who pitched 3 strong shutout innings. John struck out four. He was followed by Josh McClendon who struck out three and Cameron Buckley who struck out one. Offensively the Pirates were lead by Jake Feckley's grand slam in the second and key hits from Josh McClendon, Brandon Mays and Steven Collins. The Wylie Black will next play on Wednesday, September 24 at Mesquite-Horn HS at 5:30 PM. 

 

Wylie Black jumped out fast against Horn HS scoring seven runs in the first two innings. Gatlin York, Daniel Jordan, Jake Feckley, Matt Bass, Logan Collins, and Steven Curtis all had hits in the game and Ryan Bowers stole two bases. After three games Logan Collins and Steven Curtis have a .667 batting average and Jake Feckley has 5 RBI  and Daniel Jordan has 4 RBI. As a team Wylie Black's pitchers have an earned run average of 1.56. The next game will be at McKinney Boyd HS at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, October 1. 

 

Wylie Black exploded for 12 runs in the one sided game against McKinney Boyd on Wednesday. Matt Bass had 2 hits a stolen base and 3 RBI, while Cameron Rice had 2 doubles, one RBI and reached base four times. Gatlyn York scored 3 times and had 2 hits and 1 RBI, while Daniel Jordan scored twice and hit a triple in the second inning and also had 2 RBI. On the mound Wylie Black dominated with Josh McClendon going three strong with 6 strikeouts and only allowing two unearned runs and John Quisenberry had three shutout innings with six strike outs. The next Wylie Black game is Wednesday, October 8 at Wylie HS at 5:30 PM.

 

Wylie Gray :

Wylie had an offensive explosion this past Saturday against Mesquite scoring 11 runs. Dustin Blankenship had two hits and scored three times, Garrett Scott had two hits and one RBI, Robbie Petty reached base three times and scored once, Drew Feuerbacher had three RBI, and Ryan Bowers scored three times and stole two bases. On the mound Shaun Belcher stepped up in relief and pitched four strong innings for the win and Quentin Willis closed out the game for the save. The Varsity Gray plays next on Saturday, October 4 at Wylie HS at 2 PM.

 

Season leaders for Wylie Gray on the mound up to now are Quinton Willis who has a 3.50 ERA over 6 innings with 7 strikeouts, Josh Harris has pitched 5 2/3 innings and has a 3.71 ERA with 7 strikeouts and Suan Belcher has pitched 12 2/3 innings and has a 5. 11 ERA while striking out 16 batters. Offensively Dustin Blankenship is hitting .556, Robbie Petty .545, and Garrett Scott .500. Matt Bass is hitting .476 with 1 HR, 4 2B, 7 runs scored and 10 RBI, and Ryan Bowers has 6 RBI, 5 stolen bases and 6 runs scored. The Grey team is scheduled to play again Saturday, October 11 at 2 PM at Wylie HS.

 

Wylie Maroon:

Wylie started out fast winning their first two games, and then after being rained out for week two, they came out a little slow during week three. Maroon is being led offensively by Jacob Hosking and Michael Lyke, who are batting 1000, and Keaton George, Stephen Harris and Trevor Harper, who are batting .500. Brad Oliver is hitting .444, and A.J. David is hitting .400. As a team the Maroon is hitting .338. Stephen Harris leads the team in RBI with 4 and A.J. David is next with 3 RBI. The pitching side has Jordan Wilson having pitched 4 innings and Keaton George 2 innings with both posting a 0.00 ERA. Chance Grantham has pitched 3 2/3 innings and has an ERA of 1.91. 

 

Wylie Maroon played two hard games this weekend. In the first game we were led offensively by Lucas Rogers who went 2 for 3 and blasted a grand slam over the left field wall. Keaton George went 1 for 2 and scored twice, and Michael Lyke went 2 for 3 with one RBI. Keaton George pitched 2 1/3 innings and struck out 3. In the second game Tyler Brandon went 2 for 2 with a double, a walk, and one RBI, while Tim Birdwell and Brad Oliver had the only other hits in the game. Michael Lyke and Brandon Boren each scored. Chance Grantham, Tyler Brandon, and Tim Birdwell all pitched well striking out 6 combined. For the season, Chance Grantham and Keaton George have been leading the way on the mound, and offensively Michael Lyke (batting .600), Tyler Brandon (.500), Lucas Rogers (.429) and Brad Oliver (.421) at the plate. Tim Birdwell (has scored 9 times), Keaton George (7), and Tyler Brandon and Chance Grantham (both 6). Chance Grantham has stolen 7 bases and Ryan Dudrow has stolen 6 bases. Maroon is scheduled to play next on Saturday, October 11 at Wylie HS at 10am.  

 

Led by Lucas Rogers and his 6 for 7 hitting performance with 7 RBI, 5 runs scored, 3 doubles and one triple, the Maroon dominated the weekend. Michael Lyke, AJ David, Brandon Boren, Tim Birdwell and Ryan Tharp also had a strong day at the plate.  On the mound Jordan Wilson pitched 4 innings while striking out seven and was followed by strong outings by Tim Birdwell, Micheal Lyke, Stephen Harris and Brad Oliver. Maroon will play next on Saturday, October 18 at Wylie HS at 10 AM.
