Workin' for The ManHere is an example of a phone conversation I had at work the other day...
ME: M________ County Jail, May I help you?
Them: Can you give me warrant information?
ME: I'm sorry, we do not give out warrant information. You will have to call the court on Monday.
Would you like the number?
Them: How can I find out if I have a warrant?
ME: You will have to call the court on Monday: Or you can turn yourself in at any police station.
Them: Can you give me a court date?
ME: Is it for someone in custody?
Them: No
ME: I'm sorry, we only have information for people in custody.
Them: Can you tell me if I have a warrant?
ME: No, you will have to call the court on Monday?
Them: Can you tell me when I have court?
ME: Are you in custody? If you are, you are not allowed to call this number.
Them: No
ME: I'm sorry, but as I told you, we only have warrant and court information for people who are in custody.
Them: You can't tell me if I have a warrant?!
ME: No, I'm sorry.
Them: Can you tell me when my court date is?
ME: What do you want me to say?
Them: Oh, sorry. (Click)
However, in a endless sea of similiar conversations, occasionally something cool happens. Like this...
Coworker: Hey, Ansley, the Secret Service is on the phone for you.

Hush Little Baby...Don't a say word. Mommy's gonna buy you a mockingbird.
Does anyone actually know the words to this song? What does the dime do? Buy? Shine? What comes
after dime?
When I try to sing this song to Ari, I have to make up the verses. Am I the only parent with this problem?
Sure, there are lots of other songs to sing, but I like to switch it up.

On why I love Antiracist Parent...because the writers there express what I feel before I learn how to give life to the thought...

"Here in America, I have only been able to give them [her children] a very cultural tourist sense of Korea. Sure,
we eat often at the Korean restaurants in town; I cook Korean food a fair bit, and many of my friends are Korean. But there
is often this sense that “Korea” is this old, folk tale of a country. They will be shocked at how cosmopolitan Seoul is. I
hope they see more similarities in the two countries than differences. I hope they come back to America with an understanding
that we are part of a larger global community. If my dream comes true, Korea will be more to them than a geographical location,
a type of food and a language that trips up their tongues. I hope their taste of Korea is so delicious that this becomes just
the first of many more adventures there."
Aricin, I promise to teach you that Korea is more than a geographical location...more than a fairy tale land.

Happy Anniversary!"You Just Get Better All The Time"
You just get better all the time Darlin'
don't you change a thing Lately you're the only song I wanna sing And you're my reason to try You just get sweeter
every day The little things you do and say If only you could see you through my eyes You just get better all the
time
Oh, and I get the feelin' we can make it baby As long as you are by my side You're the music in my ears The
laughter when the tears Are fallin' down in my life
And on down through the years You never tried to change
my ways You never made me feel I had to say "I'm sorry"
You just get better all the time Why just today I
heard you read my mind That kinda magic is so hard to find You just get better all the time

About the 4th...We had a party at our place, complete with the illegal bottle rockets and the requisite fireworks shows that dot our
valley. Our friend, Mie Sung, is visiting from South Korea, and we have been having lots of fun with her.
She was excited to actually celebrate a holiday, since many South Korean holidays are quite solemn. Anyway,
Eric and Ryan were doing a great job of giving us a down home fireworks show (coordinated by Heather and Dom). Everyone
was watching from the little grassy knoll adjacent to our house. Does 'grassy knoll' sound like a recipe for
disaster? Suddenly the sprinklers came on. Damned timers! Everyone dashed for the sidewalk...and
Betty fell down and broke her crown and Spring came tumbling after! The end. When someone has to go the hosptal,
the party is over!
PS- Everyone's okay; I wouldn't joke about it otherwise!
