COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER AND DECEMBER COMMUNITY DINNER. This year's Community Thanksgiving
Dinner will be hosted here at the Chapel on Wednesday, November 18, at 6:00 p. m. This is jointly sponsored by Sherwood
Shores Chapel and Sherwood Shores Baptist Church. This will take the place of our regular 2nd Saturday night dinner
for that month. In December, our monthly dinner will be on December 12th and will also include as entertainment our
special Christmas Cantata performed by the Chapel's choir. We hope to see everyone at both of these special events.
NEW -- GAME NIGHT
The first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. beginning on Thursday, November 5, we will be having a Game Night here
in the Fellowship Hall. So bring any games you like to play and invite your friends and neighbors to join us for fun
and fellowship.
WIC CHRISTMAS LUNCH
WIC (Women in the Church) will have their annual Christmas Lunch on Thursday, December 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Lovejoy's
in Whitesboro. (No cleanup--yea!) We will be sending out invitations with RSVP's soon. If you do not receive
one or have any questions, contact Mary Burcham or one of the other officers.
GOOD NEWS CLUB UPDATE
Good News Club is up and running every Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. We have been having around 15 kids
each week. This year, after the regular events from 4 to 5, the children are participating in a Reading Club.
They are paired up with an adult from the Chapel for a reading buddy. Good News Club is for grades Pre-K to Grade 5.
The children enjoy an afternoon time of fun, food, games, music, stories, and more. They learn about God, Jesus, the
Bible, and also about things that will help build character and that they can use as they grow up. Children who already
ride the bus to Sherwood Shores/ Gordonville may ride their regular bus and get off at the Chapel. Children can still
join Good News Club, just get a registration form from the Chapel or call the Chapel for additional information. It
is going to be a great year!
NOVEMBER OFFICER TRAINING. Every Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. all officer nominees and
active officers will meet for training in preparation for their examination by the Session in early December. We are
going to try a morning meeting this year. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall. Call the Pastor if you have any
questions. All officers and nominees need a copy of the Book of Order and the Westminster Confession of Faith. Please let
the Pastor know if you don' t have a copy.
A SIMPLE WITNESSING TOOL - PICK YOURS UP!
In April the Session approved the purchase of bumper stickers for our cars that have the Chapel name on them and therefore
tell people where you go to church. The stickers are here. The red cross on the sticker signifies the atoning sacrifice
through the blood of Jesus shed for our sins. The life preserver signifies our responsibility to share the Good News with
others. The stickers will also adhere to a window on your car as well. Be sure and pick yours up. Let others know you are
proud of your Chapel and you invite them to come and worship with you.
