Small Groups and Ministries

Getting involved with a small group is a great way to meet new people and get involved in an activity you enjoy and serve the Lord. Some of the ministries and small groups we offer are Good News Club (ages K thru grade 5), the Chapel's Youth Group (grades 6 thru 12), Ministry of Brothers (MOB), Women in the Church (WIC), Joy Bible Class (Women's Bible study), Seekers of Souls (SOS - evangelism), and Vacation Bible School. Sherwood Shores Chapel Bible Bee Contest

On Saturday, September 12, Sherwood Shores Chapel hosted a Local Contest of the National Bible Bee. Eight contestants competed for a spot in the National Bible Bee Contest to be held in Wahington, DC this November. There were more than 17,000 young people registered nationwide. We thank all the volunteers who helped with this important ministry and we say congratulations to all the contestants. Below are pictures from the actual contest on the 12th and from the "mock" Bee we held on August 29.

Sherwood Shores Chapel Playground

Below are pictures of the construction of the new Children's Playground at the Chapel. As you can see, it is coming along nicely, and the kids can't wait until it is finished. Right now, Ms. Vanette's squirrel, Sherwood, is having fun running around it and checking it out after he eats the bird seed she puts in the bird feeder outside her office.

COMMUNITY DINNERS RETURN

FOR THE FALL

On Saturday, September 19, at 6:00 p.m. the Chapel's monthly Community Dinners will return for the Fall. The dinner theme is Mexican Food. And the entertainment that night will be provided by the Gospel singing group "Spoken for Texas" from the Metroplex area. Everyone is invited so please invite your friends and neighbors. See you there!!

The last dinner we had was in June after the week of Vacation Bible School. Here are some pictures from that dinner and from the program that was put on by the VBS kids. Check back for pictures from September's Dinner.
