Our Mission
The Tai Chi Education and Research Institute
promotes health and well being through Tai Chi instruction
and by raising public awareness of the many benefits of this ancient exercise.
Tai Chi Chuan is the slow moving and graceful exercise , a tonic for all
organ and glandular systems, greatly improved balance and coordination. Recent medical studies reported by the National Institute
on the Aged concluded that seniors who practice Tai Chi are able to prevent serious injury due to falls by 48%.
Lead instructor Noel Pittman contracted polio at the age of 2. Throughout his life his doctors always
cautioned that by the time he turned 38 he would be confined to a wheelchair due to post polio syndrome and arthritis. That
milestone has come and gone 10 years ago. Tai Chi is an aggressive non-violent tool for overcoming all forms of adversity.
