I’ve been toying with how to turn the Battleball figure I used to represent Silver Scorpion (see photo page 4) into American Dream, the Next Avenger’s Captain America inspired female hero.  I am planning a little cutting, a lot of painting and using a Harpoon dial to represent her Nomad-like power discs.

 

Then, staring at a display of patriotic heroes I keep in my office, I noticed the Star-Spangled Kid.  Although her uniform is not an exact match, it is close and looks better than anything I could do by hand.  So I clipped off the staff from her rookie version, and glued a shield from a rookie IC Cap I had extra and poof, American Dream.  The rookie dial of Star-Spangled Kid represents American Dream even better than Harpoon’s would have.  I put the shield on her right arm, which leaves her left arm looking as though it is cocked back for a punch.  Brilliant!

Evil Cosmonaut:  Take just fig for a different Red Ghost.

 

Irradiated Zombie:  Aren’t there several, non-zombie, but irradiated villain types?

 

Lab Gorilla:  Evil villain cronies.

Reptosapien:  Alternate Lizard, with paint job.

 

Scrubbers:  Nice Special Forces, maybe AIM agents.
