When I originally started
thinking about this website, it was intended strictly as a private site for my family. It was a good way to work
through my father's death and celebrate his life. But as I started to gather photos it occured to me that my father
would have wanted this to be shared with everyone that knew him. No one loved to be photographed more than Moo
Moo!
He was a man that definitely had a zest for
living. And yet he always feared he'd face an early death like his father. Every Christmas and
birthday he'd say he probably wouldn't be around for the next. And he'd often say "I never thought I'd live
to see the day........." Be it birthdays, graduations or weddings, he was always amazed he was around to see it,
and he cherished every day he was given.
Despite his expectations, he tackled every
health crisis, both minor and major, with great courage and determination. As he faced post polio syndrome, and
later a heart bypass, he felt as though he had cheated death. In his words, "I licked 'em again." He
lost his battle with cancer at the age of 77....certainly older than he thought he would achieve, but still much
too young.
Moo Moo was truly
a unique man, and his courage has been a great inspiration to the family. This website is for him, for my family,
and for everyone who loved him.
We all miss you Moo
Moo!
