Ah, the joys of building a new home!

The House was completed on 03/01/2007. Check the pages "The Inside" and "The Outside" for a few photos.

12/17/2006 - Wow! Two months have passed since the last update. There has been a lot of progress on the house.  Completion is still anticipated by the middle of January. For a while it seemed like we might be in by Christmas, but, that was squelched by rain and, believe it or not, snow.

The interior walls have been insulated and drywalled.  Next, the finish carpenters came in and installed the interior window sills, moulding, interior doors and crown moulding.

They were followed by the cabinet makers. All the cabinets and window seats were custom made for our house and the cost is comporable to buying the cheap stuff at Lowe's or Home Depot (the avantages of not having craft unions).

At the beginning of last week (12/10/2006) the interior painters and the bricklayers started their work. The painters applied the stain to the cabinets and window seats and they look fantastic. The painters also started to apply the primer to all the interior surfaces.

We have included pictures of the progress, up to now, of the house.

10/05/2006 - It has been almost a month since I updated this page. Chad Bramlett and his crew - Cody, Bob and Terrence - did a great job.  Four carpenters put up this house in four weeks. Amazing!

Now the plumbers, electricians, heating/air contractor and cable contractor are working within the framing. It's a good thing the house is big enough for them to work in the rafters and in the walls, all at the same time.
"There's a party going on right here".

The outside doors are hung, in particular, the beautiful front door with sidelights. Hopefully we can get you a good close-up picture of it.  Probably the most expensive single item in this home.

09/12/2006 - The progress is dramatic.  The most recent photographs show the carpenters working on the roof joists.  Everything is constructed in place. No pre-fabricated sections.

09/06/2006 - The walls are all framed and the carpenters will start working on the support beams and joists tomorrow. No new pictures today.

09/05/2006 - The lumber arrived this morning, immediately followed by the carpenters and Ricky Berry our contractor.

Ricky, and his partner Mike Armstrong, have this project tightly choreographed.  See the pictures added below of the current progress.
