The Somerset Valley Orchestra began in the fall of 1974 as a class in the Jointure for Community Adult Education. Originally SVO had only 17 members; today it has grown to about 50. The orchestra is proud to continue its affiliation with the Jointure.

The Orchestra's mission from it's begining has been educational - its director is an instructor in the Jointure - while presenting concerts to the community.

No auditions have ever been held. The orchestra members rely upon their own abilities and interests.

Rehearsal information

The Somerset Valley Orchestra rehearses at 7:30 PM in cafeteria B of the Bridgewater Raritan Middle School. We have openings in all sections. No auditions are required, and there is no age limit for membership
