The Somerset Valley Orchestra began in the fall of 1974 as a class in the Jointure for Community Adult Education. Originally SVO had only 17 members; today it has grown to about 50. The orchestra is proud to continue its affiliation with the Jointure.

The Orchestra's mission from it's begining has been educational - its director is an instructor in the Jointure - while presenting concerts to the community.

No auditions have ever been held. The orchestra members rely upon their own abilities and interests.

Rehearsal information

The Somerset Valley Orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings, at 7:30 PM in cafeteria B of the Bridgewater Raritan Middle School. We have openings in all sections. No auditions are required, and there is no age limit for membership
