Hello! Amy and I would like
to welcome you to our home away from home. We love to come here to "Get a way" from the big city. My family has
called this home for almost 65 years! My Grandmother "Lucille Turner-Loveless"
lived here many, many years before now having to make her home in Texas and the home is just as she left it a few years ago. The original owner of the
lumberyard in Russellville built this house in 1923. While most homes have studs every 18" the original builder
wanted a more "Sturdy" home so he placed studs in the walls every 9" apart. The home was originally built
with only two bedrooms and one small bathroom. Once "Grandmamma and Paw Paw" bought the home they quickly closed
in the "Back Porch" into a separate room, creating room for two more twin beds. In the mid 70's my grandfather
"Paw Paw" finished out the upstairs attic into two additional bedrooms, which has room for two Full size beds and plenty
of room for storage. He passed away shortly after completing this project. One of his goals was to install a bathroom
upstairs, however this would have to wait for many years later. After his passing Grandmamma
stayed single until she ran into "Charles" her long lost friend that had moved to California right after high school.
Charles was recently widowed and had moved back to Ozark a few years earlier to burry his wife. Well needless to say
Charles and Grandmamma grew much closer and were married in 1995 after a long courtship. Charles aka "Papa
Charles" surprised Grandmamma with an upstairs bathroom about a year later. So now the house is officially
a 5 bedrooms and 2-bath home with room for up to 12 comfortably. We hope you enjoy your stay
and please leave us a message in the register on the kitchen table. Doug and Amy |
