HISTORY OF THE HOME

TurnerFamily.jpg

Turner Family in the original kitchen. You can see the old cabinets. The kitchen sink was on the right side behind my Grand Dad.  In the pic are Thomas, Marguerite, Sally, Tom and Tommy.

Porchglassedin.jpg

This picture was made around 1953.  The porch was glassed in but the second front door is still there.  The dogs name was Lady. She was a fine bird dog even though she was treated as a pet.  We killed a lot of Quail behind her.

HouseCirca950.jpg

This would be the oldest picture of the house.  Should have been around 1950.  You can see that the porch is still screened in and the second front door is still there

Fishermen.jpg

This is the oldest picture of the set.  Made in front of Talkington Motor Company in the 100 block of East Main.  The fish would have been from Lake Nimrod. The fishermen are from the left Randy Talkington, Hot Ross, Dad.  This was made before 1950

DadsSuperLuscombe.jpg

This was the Super Luscombe that Dad owned in partnership with Dr. Max Mobley and Bud Clindennon.  Was made in the early 50's.  Dad & Bud had rebuilt the airplane after they bought it follow a crash. Dr. Mobley paid $900 for the wreck then Dad & Bud fixed it.  Bud was an A&E.  Dad sold his 1/3 back to Dr. Mobley for $300 to buy our first TV. It was a Hoffman console.  You probably remember the TV antenna that was next to the steps on the North porch.
