Chapter Business Meeting

Little Farm on the River RV Park Camping Resort

Rising Sun, Indiana

May 17, 2008

  1. President, John Wyatt, called the meeting to order at 6:45 pm welcoming and thanking  everyone for the good attendance, good food and for attending although the fuel prices are so high.  He recognized the officers as follows:  John Wyatt, President; Rob Spaulding, Vice President; Janie Rappe, Treasurer; Joyce Wyatt, Secretary; Del Lewis, Wagon Master; Charlie Atkinson, FMCA National Director and Jim Rappe, Alternate FMCA National Director.
  2. Minute reports were handed out earlier of the last business meeting and the current treasurers report.  The business meeting report was voted on, approved by Gary Sama and seconded by Jackie Howard.  The treasurers report was voted on, approved by Rob Spaulding and seconded by Betty Spellman.
  3. New business discussed:

o      Several members will be dropped from roster if their dues are not paid up by June  1, 2008.

o      Discussion about co-owners of RV’s being able to join FMCA and group.

o      The number of coaches signed up to attend a rally must be 5 in order to hold the rally.  Two officers and the wagon master will make the decision to cancel or not.   Emphasized the importance of sending in your rally fees 2 weeks before the  rally, so a judgement can be made on how many coaches will be attending.

o      Let the chapter secretary know if a member is ill or hospitalized so we can send a get well card from the chapter.

  1. Charlie Atkinson talked about the 2008 International Convention in Minnesota.  He also talked about the By-Law change about having to hold only 1 business meeting per year, which will, hopefully, be voted on this summer.  He also talked about the 2009 FMCA International Convention to be held in Bowling Green, Ohio, on July 20-23, 2009.  He’d like to see our chapter participate in this convention.  There is a need for volunteers.  And he also suggested that we have this Convention be our rally location for July, 2009.
  2. John Wyatt discussed the $200 gift certificate to be given away at our October, 2008 rally.  Each members name is entered for every rally they attend this season.  The more rallies you attend the better your chances of winning.
  3. FMCA gifts and a small clock (made by John Wyatt) were drawn for and given out.
  4. A motion was made to adjourn this meeting by Gary Sama and seconded by Joyce Wyatt.
