WHEN:  Sunday, February 3, 2008; pre-run @ 7:10 a.m., start @ 7:30 a.m.

WHERE:  Lord Hill Regional Park, 12921 150th Street SE, Snohomish, WA.  Lord Hill website
Take I-5 north or south into Everett.  Drive east on US Hwy 2 and take the WA Hwy 9 exit.  Turn right (heading south) onto Hwy 9 and proceed 2.3 miles to the second Snohomish exit.  You will have gone under an overpass and passed a large electrical power grid on your left.  If you go across a big bridge, you have gone just past the exit.
Take a left at the bottom of the off-ramp and this will place you on Second Street.  Follow this through Snohomish for 1.2 miles to Lincoln Avenue South.  You'll see a First Heritage Bank and a Cenex Co-op on the right.  Turn right here and follow 2.7 miles to 127th Avenue SE.
Alternatively for eastsiders, take I-405 to SR 522 and proceed 12.4 miles to the first Monroe exit for 164th St SE/W Main St.  Loop counterclockwise around the rotary to head west on the Old Snohomish-Monroe highway.  Follow for 3.8 miles to 127th Avenue SE.
You should see a sign indicating Lord Hill Regional Park.  Turn right and stay on this road for about 1.6 miles and up a long, steep hill.  This hill could be extremely tricky if road conditions are snowy or icy.  Please exercise caution if this is the case!  Look for the park entrance on your left and proceed up the hill to the parking lot.

Do not use the signed horse trailer parking area!  PLEASE TRY TO CARPOOL AS PARKING IS LIMITED!   If you are running two or three loops, I would ask that you park in the areas away from the start/finish.  I will have a tarp set out for drop bags that is easily accessible between loops.  Additionally, I should have a volunteer there to help get most of you parked.  There are a couple of different areas that we can use to park, so be looking for someone with a flashlight to help you out.

WHAT:  No fee/formal registration fun run on single-track trail and gravel/rocky roads through hilly, wooded surroundings and an old rock quarry.  Several ponds and swamps throughout, and park borders Snohomish River.  Course measures just shy of 11 miles and 1800 feet of gain per loop; do 1, 2, or 3 loops; 3 full loops for 50k.

I'm pretty much full at this point, but you can still contact me and I will keep your name available.  My main concern is with parking, not the course.  So if you can carpool with someone already signed up, let me know.    I will be soliciting the group for any potential drops which would then open a spot.   Please see the current list of runners.  If you wish to run, simply email or call at the contact information provided below to indicate your interest and I will do what I can to get you on the list.  Typically these last couple of weeks see several drops, so there is "usually" room to add a few more in their place.

I want to reiterate that this is a fun run and, while fun competitiveness is encouraged, this is not a race.  There are no shirts,  awards, or placings.

Course will be marked with orange flagging tape and/or, weather permitting, white spray chalk.

AID:  None out on the course.  Water, soda, soup, some snacks and fruit at end of loop/finish.  Potluck format post-run goodies.  If you'd like to bring  something, make it appropriate for tailgating, sitting around, etc.  There are no real picnic-type facilities, nor is there access to power.  Any beverage, snack, or treat would be great.
