A professional author and lecturer, Sharon has published
articles on research and research methods in several genealogical journals. She lectures on the topics of research methods
and continually explores ways to improve family research through technology and methodology.
Sharon knows the joys of discovering one's roots
and is devoted to helping others discover and preserve their own family's history.
She is a graduate of the Oral History Institute
at Kenyon College, Gambier, OH and the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research at Samford University, Birmingham, AL.
She is a member of the Sooner Unit of the National Association of Parliamentarians, National Genealogical Society, Dallas
Genealogical Society, the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors, and the Texas Oral History Association.
As with any source used in genealogical research,
an oral history interview must be examined for reliability. So Sharon is currently working on a series of articles, which
discuss the issues and methods of assessing reliability of oral history as evidence.
