On this page I'll discuss the history of my horse collection and how I got involved in raising and breeding.

History

I've currently been raising horses since 2003. Being a child of divorced parents I was raised by my mother in the city. My father however has had horses most of my life and he got his first horse when he was 12. I still remember that mare "Chubby" she was still around when I was a child. She was brought to my grandparents place when she was 6 months old and never left until her death at 25 years old.

All my life I never thought there was a better smell than that of a horse. Never a better feel than that of the soft nose against my cheek. I have always had horse fever but was never in a position to raise them until recently. I can honestly say that this is my passion in life now. Without my horses, I don't know what I would ever find to do.

When I die, I hope to find myself surrounded by my family AND my horses!

My Background

My name is Sherry Patterson. I live in a little town in East Texas called Emory. I have a very small place that accomodates 24 horses at this time (more on the way) All of these horses are not mine. MOST of them are my dad's. But through circumstances beyond his control (divorce) he is having to use my little place for his horses. So, I have taken this opportunity to learn all that I can by having so many horses. (boy have I learned!)

I'm a 41 year old divorced mother of 2. My oldest son is in the Navy living on the USS NEMITZ! my youngest will graduate from high school in 2 weeks (he lives in Oklahoma) I have been a nurse for 15 years. I guess you could say that I have a co-dependent personality making my interest in horses a little more understanding since they NEED me to survive.
