In loving memory of my father
who died unexpectedly on the morning New Year's Eve. He inspired so many to live a better life by his own
example. I know he is playing his harmonica at God's throne now!
I created this website to inspire, help, support,
and befriend women, and men who care about women.
The title of this site, "Blossoms of Hope" is dedicated
to every girl, who, like a flower has potential to bloom into a beautiful, confident, woman, but sometimes because of abuse,
illness, or bad experiences they become frozen in the past.
My hope is that by making public my own experiences
you will realize that you are not alone and together we can heal.
I was born with a severe hearing loss that has greatly
affected my entire existance, and those who are close to me. I have experienced the worst in humanity as it was taken
advantage of, and the best of humanity, as most have understood and supported me in feeling equal despite my physical loss.
I have an ongoing diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder which causes me anxiety, depression, and flashbacks when I least expect it, especially when under pressure or
stress.
I have Fibromyalgia which is a daily struggle
to deal with all the symptoms, particularly the pain and stiffness. I take pain pills several times daily, along
with other medications in order to function throughout the day. I hope to bring awareness to this mysterious, invisible
illness in whatever way God gives me, because this is a little known, unrespected, silent, depressing condition that needs
to be addressed and supported.
I am a cancer survivor and advocate for women's
health. I encourage all women to enlighten themselves and make appointments for screenings and get needed support to
continue to take care of their health.
I was brainwashed and traumatized in a satanic cult
that posed as a religious retreat. This experience has made me review my beliefs and become stronger in my faith.
What evil intended to destroy, God has made stronger.
After a first disasterous marraige, I am now married
to a decent and good man who loves me unconditionally. We have been now been married for 23 years.
Despite the hard times, I have a loving relationship
with my parents and siblings and my children and grandchildren. This has been acheived through honest communication,
forgiveness, and love. Restoration of relationships can be hoped for only when you make room in your
heart for love by kicking pride out.
Though I cannot hold a steady job with my disabilities,
I am an Avon representative with the support of my friend/helpers, and family. This keeps me active socially
and keeps me from succumbing to depression. Having my own business has given me hope for a better future as I realized
it is an avenue to help other women fulfill their own dreams as well as my own.
I love my home and my town, and I always carry
enough hope for tomorrow with me. I am rich with the best that life has to offer, and I pray that you will find
that wealth is not in money, nor even in health, (although these are nice!) but it is in faith, hope and love.
Attention Women:
I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer, also known as Endrometrial
Cancer in January of 2009. I had a radial hysterectomy on March 1, 2009, and then went through 28 treatments
of radiation, finishing on May 11th, 2009.
Cancer has opened my eyes to the suffering of others with
cancer, particularly women's issues. I am sharing what I have learned about Uterine Cancer so that women can make
the decision to take proper care of themselves.
This is a very common form of cancer for women, yet, so
many do not realize that they have it until it is in the late stages. The main symptom is UNUSUAL BLEEDING, especially
if you are post-menopausal. A word of warning-PAP SMEARS WILL NOT DETECT THIS FORM OF CANCER.
In fact, a gynocologist completely missed mine in December of 2008, and only because I persisted did I get to see another
doctor who ordered an ultrasound, and then it was seen immediately. I had a fast-growing mass in my uterus, which was
THREE TIMES the normal size, yet it was NOT DECTECED until the ultrasound.
So friends, PLEASE follow your instincts, persist in getting
the attention and proper treatment that you deserve. You are the only one who may save your life.
UPDATE: I recently read in the newspaper that if you
use tanning booths on a regular basis you are 75% more likely to get some form of cancer later in your
life. We already know that staying in the sun too long is not good for your skin, and ages you faster on top of everything
else, so why do we think a dark tan is healthier? Women, think about your health first! It's not worth your life!
Pass this on to all the other women you know.
Thanks!
