Working independently...
First things first.  I am not forming a national organization, and I'm not trying to bring everyone together.  The MCFFU and the USFTL have to figure out their own paths, and although it would make incredible amounts of sense (both business-wise and for the teams' sake), I don't see either organization as willing to do that.  One day in the near future I will put together a proposal for a merger, but I am content to focus on the 3 tournaments (Ocean City in April, Baltimore in August, and Hagerstown in November), one league (MDFFA) and the Maryland Bengals.  For now, I don't have the time or energy to change the world.

There are plenty of reasons for why I am working independently.  My opinion is that teams should be judged on their complete body of work, and limiting things to one organization or another does not give a complete picture.  To know who the best is, you have to include all the tournaments and leagues the teams have played in.  My rankings (on the list to the left) include as much information as I can glean from the internet.  These rankings are simple, but seem to make sense.  Check out the rules for rankings on that page.  If there are leagues or tourneys I missed, let me know, and I will attempt to include them.

To be blunt and honest, I don't like being held accountable for other people's sins.  Acting as an independent body, I can speak my mind freely without being held in check by anyone, save for my own conscience and the needs of the teams.  I can focus on what makes a good tournament, and do my best to ensure that the tournaments I work with are handled at a high standard.

Being independent also means that this site can be a gathering point for any league, team, or organization, as well as a place to compare the options.  Legitimate complaints will be able to be addressed here, without the censorship that is prevalent among other locations.  My email is theflagfootballchallengeseries@verizon.net.  Let me know what you want to talk about.  I look forward to talking to you, and I hope to see you in Ocean City or beyond.
