On this page we will describe our background and philosophy.

Our Mission

The Flag Football Challenge Series is intended to be a sounding board for flag football in the United States, regardless of organization or association, or style of play.  The goal is to allow the teams a forum to discuss the sport, the business of flag football, and the development of the sport as a whole using logic and business sense.

If the players say it, it will be listened to.

Our History

In 2006, I held my first tournament.  The Ocean City MD 9-man Challenge on April 29-30, 2006 brought together ten teams, including the best 9-man had to offer.  The field included teams from Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York.  The teams made it a success, and Real Deal (NJ) defeated the Heat (NJ) in overtime for the championship.

In November, 2006, we were happy to host 14 teams at the Mason-Dixon Challenge in Hagerstown MD, including teams from Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.  The Baltimore Packers defeated the Metro-Dawgs (VA) for the championship.

In 2007, we returned to Ocean City and Hagerstown, with 30 teams participating between the two tournaments.  .

In 2008, Ocean City grew to 15 teams, and Hagerstown hosted 16 more, including our first 9-man ineligible B Champion, the Miller Knights.  We also partnered with the MDFFA in Baltimore for a tournament in August, with 9 teams turning out.

In 2009, we added two more styles to the Ocean City tournament, and crowned champions in 4-man, 7-man screen, 9-man ineligible A and 9-man ineligible B.  A total of 26 teams participated in the tournament.  The MDFFA Challenge Series tournament in Baltimore hosted 12 more teams on two turf fields, as well as an 8 team 4-man tournament on Friday night.

We offer exceptional fields to play on, highly-qualified officials, and a fair tournament, and we continue to strive for more.  We look forward to having you join us at a tournament in the near future.
