"Why Am I Buying Broccoli When All I Want To Do Is Quilt?"
(This program explores uses for non-quilting items in the
quilting process.)
Imagine this scenario with me if you will. You have decided to start a new project, so you head out to the
hardware store where you will purchase door stops, duct tape, and a roll of shelf liner. Next, you stop at the office supply
center for some sticky dots and a red clip board. Finally, before going home, you run into the market for toothpicks
and broccoli. At this point, if I were you I would be wondering "What is she doing - buliding a house or making dinner?"
"Just Quilts"
Let's face it, most quilters want to see quilts,
quilts, and more quilts! With this program there will be a bit of talking, a lot of laughter, and many, many quilts. Let me
show you how I came from being a home sewer to an art quilter. This is a trunk show that all will enjoy.
"Confessions of the Quilt Police"
(If you have ever wondered
just why a judge makes the decisions she (or he) does, then this is the lecture you want to hear. You will not only leave with
a better understanding of the entire judging process, you will also learn what it takes to make a winning quilt. This lecture
is guaranteed to be a real guild-pleasing experience for all.)
Remember the advice your parents gave you - "The
police are your friends. They are there to help and protect you". This also applies the the quilting world. Judges comments
are meant to guide and instruct you, and to keep you from making the same old mistakes over and over. Constructive criticism
is a good thing!
