Welcome to DeMorra Speed Skating Club's website. Everyone in Southern California is welcome to try the Olympic sport of Short Track Ice Speed Skating.

We practice on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at Glacial Garden Skating Arena in Lakewood. First two visits are FREE for those of you new to the sport. Children are especially welcome. We have speed skates and helmets available for you to use at the ice rink.

Our head coach is former US National Team Coach Wilma Boomstra. Our members include novices and Olympians. So come to the ice rink and join in the fun. Groups are welcome but please schedule a date. Any questions, drop me an email at demorra@verizon.net.

Our home is Glacial Garden Skating Arena in Lakewood, California. That's at 2400 E. Carson Avenue not too far from the Long Beach Airport.

This Fall we skate on:

Wednesdays, all skaters: 6:15 - 7:30 PM

Saturdays, all skaters: 6:00 - 7:15 PM.

EVERYONE is welcome to skate advanced skater ice. Parents please note that there may not be a novice coach at these sessions. Advanced Skater Ice will be suspended for Olympic Trials. The Club will notify skaters when Advanced Skater Ice starts up again.

Advanced Skater ice is scheduled for:

Tuesday, 6:15 PM

Sunday, 7 AM.
