Disc Launch Glider Competition

Saturday May 17 & Sunday May 18, 2008

Blue Skies Over Texas will be a premier level DLG contest offering top-notch competition at a first class North Central Texas location and meaningful $$ cash prizes $$.  This two-day event will consist of ten rounds of man-on-man DLG tasks for Class-A Sailplane.   The top six scorers will then have three rounds of fly off to select the four winners to receive the cash prizes.  A prize pool of $40 per entry will be divided on a 4-3-2-1 basis for the first four finishers. We anticipate 20 or more entries. That will make first place worth at least $320.

In addition, Blue Skies Over Texas is the second leg of the Blue Skies Series in conjunction with the Blue Skies events in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico.  Placings in the events will be accumulated to crown a Blue Skies Champion in what has become an annual challenge event. The timing of Blue Skies Over Texas provides serious competitors a chance to tune up and prepare for the IHLGF in June.

Entries will be limited with regard to frequencies so take advantage of the pre-registration discount and sign up early.

The event is held at the world famous “Southfork Ranch” northeast of Dallas.  The area is easily accessible from a large part of the South and Midwest.  The site is convenient to hotels, restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
