Welcome to Historic Redlands, founded in 1881
and incorporated in 1888. Located sixty-five miles
Southeast of Los Angeles and forty-five miles Northwest of Palm Springs,
Redlands is noted for its lovely Victorian homes,
century old tree lined streets, museums, quiet public parks,
cultural arts, and summer programs at the Redlands Bowl.

MUST SEE TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

The Historical Glass Museum is the only museum of American glassware
west of the Mississippi River, displaying a vast and growing collection of
glassware from American manufactures dating from the 1800s to present day.

Nine rooms in the museum divide the historical glass on display by specific groups:
American Depression Glass, American Brilliant Cut Glass,
Early American Pattern Glass, Elegant American Glassware,
American Victorian and Contemporary Art Glass, and Glassware from the Kitchen's of 1900s.

Included in the more than 7,000 American glass pieces on display are vases,
compotes, stemware, goblets, plates, milk glass, cranberry glass,
vaseline glass, carnival glass, satin glass, children's
play dishes, epergnes, candlesticks, salts, kerosene
lamps, and many more glass items found in the home.

You'll also find hiddern treasures in the museum Antique and Gift Shop.

The Lincoln Memorial Shrine is the only museum and archives
dedicated to the study of Abraham Lincoln and the American Civil War
west of the Mississippi River. Its extensive collection of manuscripts,
diaries, images and artifacts is maintained by the
Special Collections Division of Smiley Library.

Kimberly Crest House and Gardens, built in 1897,
is a French Chateau overlooking the
majestic San Bernardino valley.

A. K. Smiley Library features Moorish ‘mission’ style architecture,
designed by T. R. Griffin in 1887. Gargoyles, griffins,
and many oak carvings enhance the interior
of this California historic landmark.

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MUSEUM

The San Bernardino County Museum, in Redlands,
California, is a regional museum with exhibits and
collections in cultural and natural history. Special
exhibits, the Exploration Station live animal discovery
center, extensive research collections, and public
programs for adults, families, students, and children
are all part of the museum experience.

SAN BERNARDINO ASISTENCIA MISSION

This branch of San Gabriel Mission was constructed
about 1830 on the San Bernardino Rancho. During the
1840's, its buildings were used by Jose del Carmen
Lugo as part of his rancho grant. Later, after its
sale to the Mormons, it was occupied by Bishop Tenney
in the 1850's, and by Dr. Benjamin Barton in the
1860's. Its restoration was completed in 1937 by the
Works Progress Administration, assisted by the San
Bernardino County Historical Society.

REDLANDS BOWL

The Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival takes place each summer
from late June through August, on Tuesday and Friday,
with 18-20 programs in diverse musical genres offered nights.

It is the oldest continuous music festival in
the United States at which no admission is charged.

REDLANDS SYMPHONY ASSOCIATION

The mission of the Redlands Symphony is to

entertain and educate listeners of all ages by presenting

live performances at the highest artistic standard.

Consistent with this goal, the Redlands Symphony is

committed to maintaining a comprehensive educational

outreach program in its role as cultural ambassador to the

Inland Empire.

REDLANDS ART ASSOCIATION

The Redlands Art Association (RAA) is a 501(c)(3)
organization that was founded in 1964 to encourage and
support the visual arts in the City of Redlands and
neighboring communities. It is an all-volunteer
organization encouraging membership not only of
artists, but people who appreciate and support the
arts. We offer Classes and Programs to the
public and encourage and support one of the largest
Fine Arts Galleries in the Inland Empire open to the
public free of charge.

Art from Scratch started Foundation for the Arts, in

2009, to provide individual artists, from the Los Angeles

REDLANDS FOOTLIGHTERS

Redlands Footlighters is a community theater celebrating it's 64th season. It is an all volunteer organization

that produces five to six shows a year. It is the only nonsubsidized community theater in Southern California.

It has a seating capacity of 200 with a center stage that can utilize a turn table on one end, for scenery change, as

needed.

LifeHouse Theater celebrates its fifteenth season as an Inland Empire attraction with gratitude

to the thousands of families who share in and support LifeHouse Productions. Independently incorporated by

Wayne Scott as a non-profit theater company in 1993, LifeHouse is unique in the nation.

The Inland Master Chorale brings together more than eighty talented vocalists from throughout the Inland Empire.

First formed in March 1980, the chorale has since rovided exciting, quality musical experiences for audiences in the

Inland Empire, California, Washington, England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Under Maestro Duffer's

direction, the chorale has won awards, critical acclaim, gained national and international recognition, and is

presently considered one of the most accomplished choral groups in Southern California.

The Performance Loft is proud to offer to its participants

and to the Redlands community a dynamic variety of events

that enrich the cultural fabric of our city and help us all to

experience the unusual in a vibrant and creative way.

REDLANDS THEATRE FESTIVAL

The Redlands Theatre Festival, now in its third decade,

continues its reputation for excellence in performance,

entertainment and location. Just two minutes from

downtown Redlands, the RTF Theatre is located at the

corner of Highland and Cajon in Prospect Park. The park

is green and wooded with a spectacular panoramic view of

Redlands.

REDLANDS HORTICULTURAL AND IMPROVEMENT SOCIETY

Since its founding in 1889, Redlands Horticultural and

Improvement Society, the oldest garden club in

California and one of the largest garden clubs in the west,

has presented more than 118 Flower Shows in Redlands.

Sub-groups that meet regularly include the Old House Group and Genealogy Society.

The Redlands Area Historical Society, Inc., publishes the Redlands Chronicles

REDLANDS CAMERA CLUB

The Redlands Camera Club (RCC) was founded in 1896
as a nonprofit photographic organization.

The objective of the Redlands Camera Club is to encourage the photographic enthusiast
in the enjoyment and improvement of their photography.
