Trained in engineering science, I am an amateur martial arts practitioner.
I learned Yiquan (意拳) from Master Yao ChengRong (姚承荣老师)
of Yiquan Martial Arts Academy (Beijing Zhong Yi Wu Guan, 北京中意武馆). I
was mesmerized by Yiquan's physical simplicity, mental complexity, sophisticated doctrines and scientific training methods.
This evolving blog site is intended to be my participation in Yiquan's development. Let us see where it leads.

in Yiquan training. Though my views are based on Yao's
Style Yiquan (姚氏意拳), I welcome views and suggestions from martial arts lovers of all art
forms. I believe every art has its unique merits and no one art is supreme. My intend is to discover and synthesize
the similarities, and to debunk myths. Please, do not use this site as ground zero to measure egos, to
select who is best, or to decide which art is superior.
