1103 String Tie Bikini

Materials:  Approximately 3-5 ounces of  3-ply sport weight yarn,

crochet hook size 'F' or size to give correct gauge.

Sizes: Directions are for Extra-Small.  Changes for Small, Medium and Large are in parenthesis.

Gauge:  10 sc = 2 inches

 

Pattern is worked almost entirely in single crochet (sc) stitch.

 

 

 

BRA: Cups, Make 2: Beg at lower edge, ch 27(31-36-41) for foundation row.  Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across.  Ch 1, turn.  Row 2: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn at end of each row throughout.  Repeat Row 2 (3-4-5-6-) times more. AT THE SAME TIME, beg side edge decreases. Beg with row 3, dec a sc at side edge on this row and every 3rd row until beg of Center Cup Dec.  Bust Inc Row 1:  Inc 1 sc every 5th st 3(4-5-6) times more; sc to end of row. Inc Row 2:  Inc 1 sc in each inc or previous row.  Next 5(6-7-8) rows even in sc. Center Front Dec: (end side edge dec) On last row, mark center st of row for Center Front.  Work in sc to mark st, dec a sc at marked st; sc to end. Work next row even in sc. repeat last two rows 10(14-18-22) times. AT THE SAME TIME: Dec a sc at each end of every 3rd row until one st remains.  End off.

 

Joining Cups:  Attach yarn on right side to lower side edge of starting ch.  Sc in opposite side of starting ch, sc across bottom of cup to Center Front Edge; ch 3; pick up second cup and work sc across the bottom edge. Do not turn.  Wk sc in same st, sc up Side Edge of cup to top; ch 90 for tie. Turn, sc in 2nd ch from hk and each ch down to top edge, slp st in top of cup; sc down Center Front of cup to ch 3 joining; 1 sc in each ch 3; sc up Center Front Edge of other cup to top; repeat tie; sc down Side Edge of cup to lower edge; ch 100 for Back Tie; turn and slp st in each ch to lower edge, sc across bottom of both cups to beg point; ch 100 and repeat back tie.  End off

PANTS: Front:  Beg at crotch, ch 10(10-12-14) for foundation.  Row 1:  Sc in each ch across.  Ch 1,. turn.  Row 2:  Sc in each sc across. Ch 1 turn throughout.  Work 7(8-9-10) Rows even in sc. On next Row: Inc 1 sc at each end. Work 3 rows even. Repeat last 4 rows 1(1-2-2) times. Work inc at beg and end of next row. Work 2 rows even.  Work inc at beg and end of next  2 rows. Work 1 row even. Repeat last 3 rows 3 times. Work inc at beg and end of next row. End off Front.

 

 
Back: On opposite side of starting ch or crotch, attach yarn and work in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. Row 1:  Work even in sc across. Ch 1, turn at end of each row throughout.  Row 2:  Inc 2 sc at beg and end of row. Repeat last row 1(2-3-4) times.  Then work inc at beg and end of next 6 rows. Work next row even in sc.  Work inc at beg and end of next row. Repeat last 2 rows 4(5-6-7) times. Work even  in sc for 3 rows. Work inc at beg and end of next row.  Repeat last 4 rows

6(6-7-7) times. End off.

 

Ties:  From right side of work attach yarn at crotch, sc in each row end up Back to last row, ch 90 for tie, turn and slip st in each to Back, slip st in Back, sc across Back to other edge,  Ch 90 for second tie. Turn, slip st in each ch to Back, sc in each row end down through crotch and up to top edge of Front. Repeat tie; sc across last row or Front; repeat tie; sc in each row edge down Front to beg.  End off.

 

FINISHING:  Sew in all loose ends.
