Thank You for your interest.
I would like to start off by first clarifying a few things; this is not
an offer of employment. All photo shoots will be done on an independent contractor basis.
This is a hobby for me. I do, however pay a cash amount of $100 per photo
shoot. A shoot can last three to four hours and may involve as many as thirty or more clothes changes. Everything is kept
very private.
Now with the basic information out of the way, read on if you would
like to learn more. If not, thank you for at least checking out my site. Please
tell other people about it-not only for the model opportunity, but also for the patterns.
I select women of
all types. Since not all people look the same in the same clothes, I try to use
as many different models as I can. As for what clothes you model, that is somewhat up to you. Some people are comfortable
in sweaters & tops and some are comfortable in a bikin. I make each item in several different sizes to make sure the pattern
will work. For the most part, I can use someone from a size 0 through a size 14. Not everything is for every person. Age is
not really a factor. Some of the ladies you see modeled for the clothes, some for copies of photos, a couple just for the
fun of it, and yes, of course for the money.
As you can see, there is rather a diverse line of women's fashions that
I have created. All the garments are handmade and crocheted in various yarns. My original intention was to sell the patterns in craft magazines. In order for me to present the pattern for consideration, I not only need the pattern, but photographs
of the completed work as well. This is where you, the model, come into play. Photographs I would consider being acceptable are used with the submission of the
pattern. Also, they are attached to the pattern, so someone who purchases the
pattern also has a photo to be able to see the finished design. Now with the on line catalog, the photo is posted on the site.
My original idea of craft magazines has now expanded to on line catalog you see on the web site.
Yes, I am the designer and the craftsman of the clothes. I started this hobby over forty years ago. I have just
continued on ever since. Some of my patterns have been published.
Now, let's make sure a few
other issues are clear. If you have read this far, you are probably somewhat
interested. I am not affiliated with any studio, school or talent agency. Your
chances of being 'discovered' are no better than walking down the street. I would
not consider myself a professional photographer, although I do pretty good work, sometimes.
I do not have a permanent studio; therefore shoots will be very simple. Modeling
experience is not necessary. Although it does make things go a little smoother.
Since the photos are to be used for advertising, I require a release and copyright of all photographs. The release includes personal information as well the
driver license number (for proof of age) and will require the model to complete IRS form W-9 (taxpayer identification for independent contractor). All information is kept in strict confidence. The release is
not an exclusive. You are not under exclusive contract with the photographer. The release is to be signed before any shoot takes place. And then, will be counter signed again to indicate compensation at the time of each photo session. Any person under the age of 18 years old must have parental consent and be accompanied
by an adult of their choice.
You may bring a friend along, for moral support, if you desire. Your friend may
also participate, if she is interested. I work a full time job with varied hours, so we will fit shoots in when and where
they can be arranged. Some shoots have been done out of doors, some in my home
and some in the model's home. We can decide on that at a later date. Just about anywhere we can arrange to get together. I try
to keep the shoots simple and private to help quell nervousness of the model (and photographer).
That about covers the most frequently asked about topics. If you are still interested,
please e-mail or write to me. The Privacy page includes my contact information. We
can then make arrangements to get together to discuss this further. If you have
any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you know of someone else who may be interested in modeling,
or someone who may want to purchase clothes or patterns, please pass this information along to them.
I look foreword to having
the opportunity for a shoot with you.
Thank you again for your interest.
