Thank you for visiting Poppa's website. We are a small family owned kennel located in Ventura County, California. We previously owned and bred American Bulldogs for a little over 10 years and have always been impressed with the bulldog breed. We've been researching Olde Bulldogges for quite some time now and have now decided to dedicate ourselves in helping move this awesome breed forward.

We are dedicating ourselves to breeding some healthy, athletic, and sound temperament Olde Bulldogges. Some of our upcoming bulldogges come from Rio Bravo. Their sires, grandsires and great grandsires have produced numerous quality bulldogges which are being used as the foundation in many of todays top kennels throughout the United States. Olde Bulldogges are very athletic and less prone to the genetic health problems that have been known to affect some of the modern day English Bulldogs. They are also free breeders and free whelpers.

Here at Poppa's we follow the IOEBA's Breeder Code of Ethics. We carefully plan our breedings and do not mass produce only having 1 maybe 2 litters a year. We believe that by doing this, we can put forth our best effort and time to make sure that our bulldogges are in excellent healthy condition before they are bred. We also want to make sure that all of our puppies are well observed and receive all the love, attention and socialazation required at their young age. When they leave our home, they are prepared to become an excellent healthy Olde Bulldogge in a family home or breeding program. Please contact us if you have any questions about our Olde Bulldogges.

They're taller, more athletic, helthier, a lot more responsive, and have a kinder disposition. This new breed can now breathe. The modern Olde English Bulldogge is a reconstruction of the original Olde Bulldogge of the 17th and 18th century. Various genetic crosses have been used in carefully and thoughtfully planned breeding programs to obtain this goal. the foundation of most of today's Olde English Bulldogges can be traced to English Bulldog, American Bulldog and mastiff.

The Olde English Bulldogge is a breed that is one in a million. Instead of developing the breed for a specific look, color pattern or size, it was developed for health, ability and temperament. It was bred to better an existing breed and this goal has been accomplished with great results and generations of healthy canine to prove it. We have found, and most breeders agree, that Olde English Bulldogges take about 18-24 months to mature, fill out and get that real " bulldogge " look.
