Cody Helbling qualifies for both Nike Nationals and Footlocker Nationals
On December 6th at the West Regionals in Walnut California Cody Helbling became the first Cross Country runner in North Idaho to qualify for Footlocker Nationals. Cody finished 7th, only 11 seconds from 1st place, in the 30th year of Footlocker National Event. Cody had qualified earlier in November for the Nike National Meet in Portland also held on December 6th but elected to race at the Footlocker West Regionals. To view his West Regional race click VIDEO LINK HERE. Cody is wearing a green jersey and has his trade mark sunglasses on. He moves up through the field using the hills at the Mt. SAC's Cross Country course and is in an impressive 11 man break that finishes several seconds ahead of the main field.
 
Next race for Cody is Footlocker Nationals at Balboa Park in San Diego, California December 13th.
 
Molly Mitchell finished 54th in the women's seeded race at Mt. Sac in a time of 20:16 over the 5K distance. She was 1 of only 3 ladies that raced from Idaho in the Footlocker West Regionals.

Cody Helbling finishes 25th in National Footlocker Race

Cody ran in the Nation's elite 40 man field in the 30th running of Footlocker's National event at Balboa Park outside San Diego Saturday, December 13th.(Results). Cody is the first qualifier and runner in this race from North Idaho. Cody had an amazing cross country season his junior year qualifying for both Nike Nationals and Footlocker Nationals.
