In addition to introducing Madera Vox to the conference attendees (school administrators, teachers, teaching artists, Arts Council representatives, etc.), Dave and Kelly attended three excellent and very different break-out sessions:

 

"Key Ingredients to Effective Arts Education Partnerships between Schools and Arts Organizations" - Panel discussion facilitated by Carol Fineberg

 

"Going Deeper for Innovation and Renewal: The Arts, Learning and the Core Curriculum" - workshop led by John Ciminio, Creative Leaps Int'l

 

"Keeping the Eye on the Art Object" - workshop led by Darlene Forrest, Bard Institute of Thinking and Writing

Dave Gluck and Kelly Ellenwood attended this conference at Bard College on January 10.  The conference was presented by the NYS Alliance for for Arts Education in partnership with the Columbia County Council on the Arts and the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College. 

 

Speaking of the Fisher Center - what a stunning building!  Striking from all angles, with movement and shine.  Like looking at a cloud and seeing so many different images.  I couldn't tell what the acoustics were like from the panel discussions we attended in the Sosnoff Opera House, but the seats were pretty comfy!
