Why Northeast Indiana?

 

Although commercial flights can be utilized out of major airline hubs, travel is more difficult for veterans who live in areas where direct commercial flights to DC are not available.  In these areas, such as Northeast Indiana, charter flights are the answer. 

 

Honor Flight Northeast Indiana was created to arrange charter flights to take WWII veterans directly from Fort Wayne International Airport to Washington DC, where coaches will be standing by to transport them to their WWII Memorial, as well as other memorial stops throughout the day, before flying them back home the same evening.   

 

There is already a waiting list of WWII veterans in the NE Indiana region who have applied to be included in an Honor Flight trip.

 

Why Now?

 

Frankly...time is limited for our WWII heroes.  WWII veterans are dying at a rate of >1,000 every day.  It is now or never.
