Electric dirt 2009
Being for the benefit of Mr. Kite and my other visitors who are navigating around the web with their eyes closed, I
did the page layout in an Americana theme in tribute to Levon Helm and his band on winning the first ever Grammy for Best
Americana Album, an inaugural category in 2010. Complete with the background
imagery that lights the patriotic fires in our souls, images of the Statue of
Liberty, The American Flag and that timeless icon of our hard-won freedom, The American Eagle.
Lots of red, white and blue to illuminate the sight of the sky the night each year it is painted to celebrate the miracle that is America!
As American as hot dogs, baseball and Chevrolet, this is American music. At
it’s best. Deep and rich in the folklore that makes us who we are.
This album is classic
American country rockin' folk blues with the emotionally charged vocals of Levon Helm keeping you rooted to the roots of american
country rockin' folk blues music. You know, Getting down. rooted to the root. Not getting lost.
The Levon Helm Band is Levon Helm daughter Amy Helm, Larry Campbell, Teresa
Williams, Jimmy Weider, Jimmy Vivino, Mike Merritt, Brian Mitchell, Erik Lawrence,
Steven Bernstein and blues harmonica player Little Sammy Davis
country rockin' folk blues music.

Visit the home of The Levon Helm Band to give this music a preview and then jet back here and back up to the titles of the two albums above to grab them for yourself,
or for a friend and help fight the battle against blindness.
On a much more scenic note, I was contemplating next month’s
Certified MFS nominee’s and happened up on this blues guitarist and singer of the blues extraordinaire, woman named
Bonnie Raitt; right, his daughter. I
wonder if she has ever been to a Midnight Ramble out at Levon’s. Oh, how
Kim and I, or is that me and Kim, eh? Mrs. Babbitt? Anyway, we sure would have
loved to chance to visit and maybe even sit in for a tune or two. Can you imagine
sitting down with Levon and Amy and maybe getting to do Arcadian driftwood… sigh…
Bonnie has been nominated and we’ll be seeing where she
takes us. dig. road tested with Bonnie Raitt. What do you think Kim?
