Raymond Finelli is a Life Member of the Providence Art Club, and former member of its Board of Managers.  He studied for several years with noted Rhode Island School of Design teacher and painter, Edna W. Lawrence.  He has received awards at the South County Art Association and at the Providence Art Club, where he also has been teaching Portrait Drawing and Painting for 28 years.  Most recently he was awarded the Club's coveted Art Club Medal.

Mr. Finelli's work is in private and public collections throughout the United States as well as in England, France, Istanbul, and Ghana.  Portrait subjects include individuals, families and children, public officials, historic figures and fellow artists.  He paints physicians, businessmen, attorneys, and others in their professional settings.  His pastels and oils often include pets --cats and dogs, horses, even teddy bears.
