These glass catalogs are in compressed (gzip) format. Much of the Schott information has been extracted from the program available on the Schott Glass Technologies Website.

For the Ohara catalog, I thank Todd Goyen, who rigorously converted the EXCEL spreadsheet information into a convertible form.

For the SchottX, Chance and IR catalogs, I thank Brian Blandford. The Chance catalog is not compressed.

For the Bausch and Lomb catalog, I thank Bob May. Note that this catalog is not compressed. I have taken the liberty of creating reasonable glass names from the icode and the chemical/physical family.

After decompression, the format here should be readily parseable. Each glass type is built as a named table of values/subtables. Each subitem has either a numeric or a string value. If the value is a string, I have enclosed it in double quote marks. Occasionally, when attempting to convert some data to a numeric format, there were certain characters that did not convert. These were put into the remarks fields, with a reference back to the uninterpretible value.

The format allows for certain fields to have no value. It also allows for much of the data to be missing. The Chance catalog, for example, contains little more than the refractive index formula.

For some more information, I have attached a brief description of the format. I have also attached dispersion formulae descriptions.
