The homepage of  Rich Futyma and Maria Hoffmeyer

I hope that you had no problem accessing our homepage in its new location on Verizon.net.  We are in the process of revamping the whole thing, so there are only a couple of things posted here now.

Spring has arrived and everything is becoming green.  I will try to post a new photograph of our front yard every few weeks to give you an idea of how things are looking in our little corner of the world.  If you double-click on the photo, you will get a larger version; you can then return to this page by using your web browser's "back" button.

April 2, 2006
Our house on April 2, 2006.  The daphne in front of the house had just begun to bloom a few days earlier.
Daphne mezereum
The purple flowers of daphne on April 2nd.  This is the first flowering shrub in our yard to bloom each year.  The flowers come out before the leaves, so the whole plant looks purple for a few days.

Mountain Laurel in bloom
We planted this dwarf mountain laurel in our yard on May 28 (for our third wedding anniversary).  It was in bloom at the time that we planted it, but it will normally bloom towards the end of June.
Rhododendron in bloom.
Our rhododendron was in bloom on May 29.
Our home on June 9, 2006
June 9, 2006.  The rhododendrons are still in bloom.  You can see them near the front porch.

Our village of Ballston Spa - If you come back here in a couple of weeks, I will have posted some photos of the village where we live, Ballston Spa, New York.
