Florida Everglades. Like no place else on earth. Gulf Coast
Visitors center offers guided boat tours through the "Thousand
Islands". Shark Valley Visitor's Center a two-hour tram tour
across the "river of grass" to observation tower, passing scores of
alligators, rare birds. About 3 hours south on US 41, either makes a
long but unforgettable day trip.

Historic Spanish Point.
Historical site spanning prehistoric shell mound, early settlers, and

Legacy Trail.
Continuing project to convert old railroad right-of-way to a 12-mile
biking and hiking trail from Clark Road to historic Venice train
station. Numerous convenient trailheads with parking.
Manatee Viewing Center.
See manatees as they congregate in the warm waters from Tampa
