RECIPE

EASY ROOT VEGETABLE STEW
 
1½ cups chopped onion

3 large carrots, thinly diced

4 cups water and 4 teaspoons Vege Base or 4 cups vegetable stock

1 tablespoon salt

1 cup peeled diced turnips

½ cup pearl barley

1 cup peas
Heat water or stock in large pot and add onion, carrots, turnips, salt and barley.

Simmer for about 1½ hours.

Add peas and cook an additional ten minutes.
