| VEGETARIAN GRAVY (1 cup) | |
| 1 tablespoon oil
2 tablespoons flour - any kind
1 cup vegetable broth or Splash of soy sauce Dash of nutmeg Salt and pepper to taste

Heat oil over medium heat. Add flour and stir until a paste is formed. Add vegetable broth, soy sauce, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Continue heating until thickened. Recipe may be doubled, tripled, etc. |
| If you dont always have vegetable broth or drippings handy, broth can easily be made from powdered vegetable base and boiling water. The brand I use is Vogue Vege Base. It works very well in a number of my favorite recipes, goes a long way and has the added advantage of being low in sodium. | |
