The Ferrets!

We're pretty busy, whether we're working, volunteering, at the gym, or just out there experiencing life!

Rick works in the medical insurance field, Rhonda works in the Chiropractic field. On Thursdays (her days off from the Chiropractic Clinic) Rhonda works at Northwest Zoological Supply. They are a distributor of small animals to pet stores in the Washington/Oregon/Idaho/Alaska region. Obviously, she specializes in ferrets!

We volunteer at the Washington Ferret Rescue and Shelter in Bothell, Washington. We are a no kill shelter. It can be pretty hard when people surrender sick or dying ferrets, it's difficult to imagine why people don't take better care of their pets. Thankfully, the vast majority of our surrendered ferrets are healthy and happy and eager to be adopted! Most of our surrenders are due to:

* People moving into smaller homes or apartments where pets aren't allowed

* People moving to non-ferret friendly places, such as California, Hawaii, and NYC (just to name a few).

* Kids who going off to college and can't keep them in their dorms.

and finally

* Some people just realize that they can't take proper care of their ferrets or they don't realize what they've gotten into. Having ferrets is like having a perpetual two year old!
