| Joey wins the Open Puppy stake and takes home the Gordon Maxfield Memorial Trophy - CVC 2005 WFT |
|
Bred by Mark and Robin Calder (Tiber Creek Vizslas), Joey is named after
the Calder's energetic oldest son Joseph. And energetic only begins to describe Joey. On his 6-month birthday,
Joey ran in his first field trial, the Conestoga Vizsla Club 2005 walking trial. He placed 3rd in the Amateur Puppy
stake and was the highest placing Vizsla, thus the recipient of the Gordon Maxfield Memorial Trophy. That same day,
Joey competed in the Open Puppy stake and took home the blue, earning his first two field championship points. Joey earned
open and amateur puppy and derby points before his first birthday. During the "dog days" of summer 2006, Joey finished
his show championship with several wins, including three majors, all owner-handled. Joey is now competing in field
trials as a gun dog.
