Colonel, owned by trainer Dave Pomfret, is like one of the family.
Dave has graciously allowed me to run Colonel in amateur stakes, and in April of 2005, Colonel finished his Amateur Field
Championship and went on to become the #1 dog for the year 2005 on both the Open and Amateur VCA Top Ten Field lists.
He repeated his #1 rankings on the 2006 Open and Amateur VCA Top Ten Field lists, and was #1 Amateur dog in 2007. Colonel
has earned placements in three VCA National events, was named the 2007 NVA Eastern Championship Runner-Up, was awarded Best
Vizsla at the 2007 AKC Pointing Breed Gun Dog Championship in the Retrieving stake, and was named the 2007 NVA Quail Classic
Runner-Up. With tremendous style on point, Colonel is an exciting dog to watch in the field. Colonel's "retirement"
plan includes working as a guide dog at Blandfield Plantation, where Dave manages the upland hunting operation.
