I first became aware of my preference to NOT WATCH him, after I both watched (live) and read (the next day) his first inaugural speech. When I watched it I didn't think much of it. When I read it the next day, I liked it better. It wasn't until today, when I listened to his "Ft Bragg Speech" that I realized that it's his mannerisms which get in the way of my listening. When I just listen (via radio) I concentrate on what he says, now how he says it.
Now let me say for the record, I think this is MY problem, not his. Although I didn't vote for him as president (I thought he was a pretty good governor), he's the man and I don't hold any grudge against him.
And let me also say that although I thought going in to Iraq was a mistake, he's made it and now it time to hang in there and get it right. We may be there for a while, a LONG while...but pulling out now will only make things worse. I think it's Tom Friedman who says "Some things are true even if George W Bush believe them." Well, some things are good for the world if if they are good for Bush. Home
