The West Branch of the Susquehanna River drains nearly 7,000 square miles in the heart of north central Pennsylvania. Forests dominate the land cover of the watershed. It contains more than 1.4 million acres of State Forest, more than 250,000 acres of State Game Lands, 29,000 acres of State Park land, almost 1,250 miles of exceptional value streams, and nearly all of Pennsylvania’s elk herd.
