Knights of the
Wine Table
A Group
of Friends:
Dedicated to the making of and the enjoyment of fine wine and foods.

CREDO
When making wine, always strive to
improve. The ultimate goal is the look
on the face of your fellow knights that says “This can’t be home made, it’s too
damn good”.
When bringing wine to the luncheons, always
bring an appropriate wine. The ultimate
achievement is when the majority of knights declare that the best wine of the
luncheon was the bottle that you brought.
When bringing guests, remember that it is
your responsibility to inform them of the format and that they should be quiet
and attentive when someone is speaking. They too must bring wine.
Without being too formal, we should continue
to strive to learn what makes a wine both good and bad; why certain wines go
well with food as well as what wines actually detract from the dining
experience.
A knight should never use excuses for not
bringing in wine to any meeting and should never claim to have been unable to
find an appropriate wine for any of the meetings as there is always someone to
help.
And although this is at the end of the list,
always strive to bring your best wine to the luncheons to share with your
fellow knights. This is a sign of respect towards the group. When you bring an obvious low end or bargain
basement closeout, remember that most of the group can spot it before the
bottle is opened. This is a sign of
disrespect.
Finally, enjoy yourself and have fun.
