Key Largo, Florida
Rich and Alice Feldman
May 2003

Key Largo is in the Upper Keys. We dove in the National Marine Sanctuary with Island Ventures and stayed with Ocean Pointe Suites. We recommend both the dive operator and the condominiums.

The following pictures are the first from my new digital camera. (Anybody want to buy a good quality underwater film camera?)

Select a picture and click.

This 5" Rock Beauty wanted to see who was taking the picture.

A juvenile Queen Angelfish.

Alice's favorite picture.
Do Balloonfish use lipstick?

This Scorpionfish was amazingly well camouflaged.

The Hogfish display a mottled or banded phase when rooting in bottom.

French Angelfish

The Sergeant Major is in the Damselfish family and is about 5" long.

Some Mahogany Snappers and some Grunts hanging out under a ledge.

This 2 foot Blue Parrotfish didn't like me.

This 3-4 foot Nassau Grouper was completely unconcerned as we swam by each other.

"How many are Your works, O LORD!
There is the sea, vast and spacious,
Teeming with creatures beyond number -
living things both large and small."
