Abbreviated Background: Earned a BS degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from the State University of New York College at Buffalo and earned a MS degree in Elementary Mathematics Education from the State University of New York College at Fredonia. Achieved Permanent NYS Certification: Pre-K - High School

Began his mathematics teaching career in 1977 working in schools and districts throughout the Southern Tier of Western New York. During the past 30 years, Bob has worked at every level of school mathematics, including Title 1 Elementary Mathematics Coordinator, middle school mathematics teacher, high school mathematics teacher, and professional staff developer in mathematics and coomputer technology.

In addition to his experience with mathematics, Bob has been an enthusiastic contributor to technology and technology education. He has served as a turn-key trainer for organizations such as NYSED Math Bureau, Technology Planning for Improving Schools (TPIS) Project, NYS Holography in the Classroom Project, the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program and worked as a part-time Education Instruction Specialist for IBM,

He has also been the full-time Director of the Orleans-Niagara Teacher Resource & Computer Training Center (ONTRaCT), continues to serve on the Advisory Council for the NYS Teachnology Education Assoication (NYSTEA) , and is a Board Member for the Friends of Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge (FINWR).

walkin in the woodsThroughout his career he has been a presenter at mathematics conferences (regional, state, and national) and at digital technology conferences (regional and state) and he has been a member of numerous committees to ensure teacher preparedness in terms of technology use in the classroom.

Bob served as the President of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State (AMTNYS) in 2002-2003, President-Elect (2001-2002), Vice President (1998-1999). In 1999, he was responsible for coordinating the statewide convention in Buffalo. Currently, Bob is the web page editor for AMTNYS and FINWR. Additionally, Bob is a member of the New York State Association of Mathematics Supervisors (NYSAMS), and one of the founding members of the Western New York Mathematics Consortium (WNYMATH).

Bob retired in July 2007, but continues to assist teachers through Teacher Centers, and is a consultant for Niagara University's Education Department and the Western NY Educational Services Council.
